Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Deutsch - Literatur, Werke, Note: 1, Universität Wien (Theater-, Film-, Medienwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Garrick und die griechische Tragödie: Zur Geburt des modernen Theaters, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Nietzsches Weltbild in der "Geburt der Tragödie" ist durch einen tiefen Pessimismus gezeichnet und gleichzeitig von einer euphemistischen Hoffnung erfüllt, den Nietzsche auch als metaphysischen Trost bestimmt. Demnach ist der Mensch als geplagtes Wesen, oder das Sein an sich, dazu bestimmt Leid zu erfahren, worin er zugleich den Urwiderspruch sieht. Nietzsche nach verfügt die Welt über eine tiefe innere Wahrheit, die eine Entweltlichung und Losgelöstheit dadurch anstrebt, indem sie durch Vergeistigung auf Verewigung abzielt. Das gelingt ihr ausschließlich durch die einnehmende und einzige Kraft der frühen griechischen Tragödie, dessen Grundprinzipien sich aus dem apollinischen Gott des Traumes und dem dionysischen Gott des Rausches, zusammensetzen. "Im Gegensatz zu allen denen, welche beflissen sind, die Künste aus einem einzigen Prinzip, als dem notwendigen Lebensquell jedes Kunstwerks abzuleiten, halte ich den Blick auf jene beiden künstlerischen Gottheiten der Griechen, Apollo und Dionysos, geheftet [...]" Somit bedeutet die Lossagung von der Welt zugleich ein Festhalten am Mythos. Die Kritik, wenn man so sagen kann, geht folglich dahin, dass durch den Verlust mythischer Werte gleichzeitig eine Verrohung der Kunst erfolgt. Die Kunst wiederum, als Schöpfer der Tragödie, vermag das "Entsetzliche oder Absurde des Daseins in Vorstellungen umzubiegen" und ist daher ein notwendiges Korrelat oder rechtfertigendes ästhetisches Phänomen, welches dazu dient das leidige Leben zu erdulden. Wodurch zugleich behauptet wäre, dass das Gleichgewicht oder die Weltenharmonie, eigentlich auch einer kausalen Kette folgt, worin der Mythos als der Schöpfer und Ursache des kulturellen
