In vie len Bereichen der Technik und Naturwissenschaften ge- winnt der Einsatz mathematisch-numerischer Methoden immer mehr an Bedeutung. Bei den Grundgleichungen der Stromungsmechanik - und Stro- mungsvorgange sind ein wesentliches Charakteristikum des Be- triebs einer jeden Brennkammer- oder Feuerungsanlage - han- delt es sich im allgemeinen um partielle Differentialglei- chungen, bei denen es nur in seltenen Fallen gelingt, die allgemeine Losung anzugeben. Deshalb muB man sich in der Re- gel damit begnugen, nur spezielle LOsungen zu suchen [1]. Die in der jungsten Zeit zu beobachtende rasche Entwicklung lei- stungsfahiger Rechenanlagen hat im Hinblick auf die Stromungs- mechanik zu einer fast als eigenstandig anzusehenden Diszi- plin, die mit dem Begriff numerische Methode der Fluiddynamik zu umreiBen ist (Holt [2], Roache [3]), gefuhrt. Der vorliegende Forschungsbericht beschaftigt sich im Rahmen der numerischen Behandlung von Stromungen in Feuerraumen bzw. Feuerraummodellen mit Anwendungsbeispielen dieses Arbeitsge- bietes. Analog zur Vorgehensweise in der industriellen Praxis, wo auf Grund bewahrter Ahnlichkeitsvorstellungen isotherme physika- lische Stromungsmodelle von Feuerungen existieren, wurde ein mathematisches isothermes Stromungsmodell entwickelt.
