Il exerce son activité de recherche au département des agents transmissibles par le sang à l¿Institut national de la transfusion sanguine (INTS). est professeur à la faculté de médecine de l¿université Pierre-et-Marie Curie (Paris 6). Il est directeur général de l¿INTS et président de la Société française de transfusion sanguine. ,,
