Review :
Pencils, pencils are everywhere in this colorful counting book. Some are animated and others become creatures, dancers, houses, a compass, and even a star. Most importantly, this picture book teachers counting in several ways. D.S. Although a primary book on counting, this book incorporates imagination in teaching and in learning. M.N. Robert Carr's teaching and art skills shine in this imaginative journey of counting from one to ten using pencils. Get the point? Funny Friend Upon reading "Pencils Count" a thought came to me. Learning anything is easy when the teacher is creative. Here, author/illustrator Robert Carr sets up counting from one to ten in several different ways to make learning stick. A great book for the beginning reader/counter. B.M. This picture book is sewn together with the most direct simplistic images using the theme of pencils. It is rare, memorable and effective. In some ways it feels Danish or possibly Japanese. Clever and perfect for the primary audience. S.C.
