About the Book

Sherlock Ferret and his well-whiskered friend Watson Mouse M.D. visit the Museum, where they look at many paintings, including the famous Ferret Before a Mirror, by Pablo Pigasso. Sherlock discovers that, though it is meant to be an old picture, the painting in the Museum is new! What is the secret of this, and the other paintings by Pigasso? Sherlock and Watson investigate, together with their rhinoceros friend (although he is not very big) Lestrade. They talk to Moriarty Magpie and other nefarious characters, and Watson spends a very uncomfortable time in Pigasso's house before the answer is discovered.

About the Author :
Hugh Ashton is the author of many bestselling Sherlock Holmes stories for adults. The titles in the Sherlock Ferret series are his first books for children. After 28 years living in Japan, Hugh now lives in the city of Lichfield in the English Midlands, together with his wife Yoshiko (and no ferrets). Andy Boerger is an illustrator and storyteller originally from Ohio, now living in Tokyo. He has illustrated several children's books, including the popular What Does the Tooth Fairy Do With Our Teeth? and many of his own stories and illustrated essays can be found on his blog, along with dozens of pen & ink illustrations of animals and other wonderful things. His Tokyo habitat includes Feather the Ferret, a spunky creature who reminds Andy a bit of his departed friend Vinnie, who served as inspiration for the Sherlock Ferret character to both the author and the illustrator of this and other mystery tales.

Review :
"I thought it was funny and very exciting especially when Watson the mouse went into Moriarty Magpie's house that Pigasso was living in. It was very good." Phoebe, age 7 (UK) "This book is very funny. My favorite character is the curator because she's funny and she threw lemonade in Pigasso's face. I love the names of the characters and the story is very interesting. The pictures are really well drawn! I loved it!" Piper, age 10 (USA) "I like the ferret books. This is the second one I have read. I think Sherlock is sometimes very silly. Moriarty is very naughty and Pigasso was very rude. I think Watson is my favourite. I very much enjoyed this and was glad that Sherlock and Watson solved the problem." Edward, age 9 (UK)
