La primera parte cubre la teoria y el tratamiento clinico de los aspectos psicoticos de la personalidad, incluyendo un analisis de la literatura existente y una seleccion del material clinico que sirve para ilustrar el enfoque tecnico del Dr. Rosefeld. El capitulo dedicado a los supervivientes de los campos de concentracion muestra el modo en el que el concepto de nucleos autisticos encapsulados lleva a nuevos diagnosticos y procedimientos tecnicos, al tiempo en el que otro articulo muestra las dificultades psicoticas que se presentan ante un trasplante de corazon. Varios ensayos subrayan la importancia de una deteccion exacta y del uso de la contratransferencia asi como destacan el inestimable apoyo del supervisor en casos graves. La segunda parte desarrolla la nocion del Dr. Rosenfeld del esquema corporal primitivo psicotico (PPBI), y muestra como dicho modelo ha probado su efectividad en campos como el delirio somatico y la droga-adiccion.En su prefacio a esta obra, el Dr. Otto Kernberg afirma: "LO PSICOTICO: Aspectos de la personalidad merece su propio respeto ya que su autor mantiene una actitud abierta ante las muchas cuestiones referentes a la psicosis que quedan por resolver. Por todas estas razones, su libro resultara util al medico clinico, sera estimulante y desafiante para el investigador y teorico psicoanalitico y supondra una contribucion importante a cualquier aspecto de la exploracion contemporanea psicoanalitica."El Dr. Rosenfeld es Profesor de Psicopatologia de la Psicosis ademas de Analista Training en la Asociacion Psicoanalitica de Buenos Aires, Profesor de Salud Mental en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y Vice-Presidente de la Asociacion Psicoanalitica Internacional. Su profunda admiracion por la obra de Shakespeare queda reflejada en su trabajo Imaginary Dialogue publicado en Freud's "Analysis Terminable and Interminable" editado por Joseph Sandler (Yale, 1991). Su ultima obra completa en su traduccion al ingles, Psychoanalysis and Groups: History and Dialectics, fue publicada por Karnac Books en1988.
