About the Book

The book is about the first fourteen years of Gary Campbell's life suffering from MS. Has anybody ever told you something that once they had told you, you didn't know whether to laugh or say Oh dear! Well let me tell you in my own words about the first fourteen years of my life living with MS. It's a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs, telling of the oh so many different things that happened along the way. The things that I tried, the treatments that I had, the exercises that I did, hoping that they would in someway help me in my fight against MS. Laughter! So much laughter it hurt.. This was the first time that I had ever had to have an internal.. I was told to take down my pants and underwear then I had to lie on my side with my knees up to my chest. I could feel myself going red, I couldn't see what the doctor was doing; my nerves were going wild so I sort of mouthed to Syl through the screen. "What's going on?" She just shrugged her shoulders and mouthed back. "I don't know." She was holding back her laughter I could see that much then the doctor said. "Right! Mr Campbell, just relax." Well my heart was in my mouth and you know where his finger was, yes where the sun doesn't shine. I didn't know where to look; I could see Syl breaking her neck to get a closer look at what was going on, then he said. "Right Mr Campbell squeeze my finger." So I turned around and went to grab his finger with my hand. "No Mr Campbell, with your bottom please," he said smiling. Tears! So many tears you could fill an ocean.. The things that we had to go through, the sides of life that people don't see, the gut wrenching changes to your life and personality. It tells just how my family and friends all in their own way helped me to overcome the very many obstacles that were there through the different stages of the disease. It's a book of hope that tells you there is life after MS and how life doesn't always seem so bad if you can just share it with someone. Tap-dancing's out then.. Is a remarkable story that will tug at your heartstrings, a story of great love and courage a story you'll be glad to be a part of. It tells of the dedication of my wife and life Sylvia, to whom this book is dedicated.
