About the Book

Shortly after the events of book one, we return to the coastal Midwest town of Mirmouth, Western Australia. George refuses to go to the police about the creature Tumblagooda despite her father Seamus's appeals. She is also worried about school bully Jed Ostler. Will he keep quiet about the “alien” who saved him from drowning at Red Cliff Beach? And just where has Tumblagooda disappeared too anyway? As George and her best friend Mac continue their adventures, they find more than they bargained for in a cliffside Aladdin's cave, and George is forced to confront issues of honesty, loyalty and the missing spectre of family. But when she thinks she can hear Tumblagooda communicating telepathically with her through the walls of a local mine, the stage is set for a course of action that will have potentially far-reaching consequences… Books in the series: 9780645595369 Tumblagooda (Book 1 in "The Tumblagooda Trilogy") 9781763552500 Tumblagooda: The Story of a Strange Missing Thing (Book 2 in "The Tumblagooda Trilogy") 9781763814387 Tumblagooda: The Story of a Strange Found Thing (Book 3 in "The Tumblagooda Trilogy") AGES: 8 to 11 AUTHOR: Suzanne Ingelbrecht is an author, professional playwright, director and performance-maker based in Perth, Western Australia. Review :
"I loved how the book 1 just sucked me in, it's like I was there on the beach with the seaweed tumbling over me. Every page I turned it made me want to keep reading more and more. When I reached the end I was devastated, I needed to read more. I can't wait until the next book! Will the alien be safe? Will it find its family? Will the secret slip?I just can't wait and am excited to find out what will happen in book 2." - Til, aged 12, Bendigo "I could not stop reading The Story of a Strange Lost Thing. It was so interesting and I really wanted to know what was going to happen next. I cannot wait for Suzanne Ingelbrecht to publish book two. And I really wish that I was allowed to go to the beach on my own!" - Avani, Year 3, Brunswick South Primary School, Feb 2024 Good Reading Magazine
