About the Book

'Tickle Ted's toes Kiss his little nose Pat him on the head And tuck him into bed. Goodnight Ted!' There's a Goat in my Coat is a fun book for counting, hopping, running, rolling, wriggling, giggling and dancing. Can you do the Jelly Belly Shakes? Are you a Tip Top Dancer? Rosemary Milne and Andrew McLean have captured the exuberance of childhood in this lively collection of rhymes - perfect for play and for developing children's language.

About the Author :
Dr Rosemary Milne is a Developmental Psychologist who has been a teacher of preschool and primary school children, and an educator of teachers and parents. She has written radio and television scripts for ABC preschool and school programmes, and has been a writer and presenter for FKA Children's Services, a resource centre which provides language support for kindergartens and childcare centres with children from diverse cultural backgrounds. Andrew McLean has taught painting, drawing and art, but is now a full-time painter and illustrator of children's books. Many of the books he has illustrated have received awards from the Children's Book Council of Australia. Andrew and his wife, Janet, have also created many popular and award-winning picture books together, including Hector and Maggie, Dog Tales and Josh.

Review :
Full of action and alliteration, the poems will be fun to read aloud...children will probably thoroughly enjoy shouting the refrain at Humpty Dumpty: 'So get down off that wall before you fall, you Silly Egg!'...this will be a useful addition to the poetry shelf, or could just be added to the kinderbox, for pre-school and infant children.
