About the Book

WARNING: The anecdotal stories contained herein are scandalous and scintillating, harrowing and hilarious, so get comfortable and enjoy this page-turning delight. The ancient legend of Pandora's Box has become an idiom meaning "starting or opening up something that will cause many unforeseen problems." This definition applies even today to the world of my real estate memoir, PANDORA'S LOCKBOX. When we agents open a lockbox for the key to show a house, we never know what could be coming out. The stage for PANDORA'S LOCKBOX is the 1980s and the early 90s when real estate regulation was in its infancy. Elaborate perks (like office parties, gifts, money, vacations, event tickets, fur coats, limo rides, free ads, wining and dining) were given to top agents as a bribe for their business. With current regulations, they no longer exist as they did then. Which is probably a good thing. We were all exhausted from working, playing, and partying non-stop. In this book you'll meet me (Nico) and my fellow agents/friends (Lolly, Krista, Miriam and Ginger). While these chapters are based on our experiences, ask any real estate agent. Our stories are their stories, too.

About the Author :

Review :
"Pandora's Lockbox by first-time author Nico Griffith immediately grabs you with its title and subtitle. Add to that her wicked sense of humor, the something-about-her that compelled people to tell her everything (even a murder confession), and the nonstop work ethic that led her to become a top-selling real estate agent. The escapades in the pages of Pandora's Lockbox are short, firsthand accounts written in the same engaging manner as the types of tales told over a stiff drink...or two...or five. Griffith's cohorts-known as the Fab Five-are true characters in and of themselves, and the author's descriptions of each are so vivid that one can't help but connect with a favorite in the same way they would with a television series character. A top-selling agent can't go very long without talking real estate, and Griffith-along with plenty of sage advice-doles out whispers, warnings, and tips between the lines of her salacious stories. And for readers considering a foray into the industry, she provides a reality check in the form of a self-administered quiz at the back of the book, allowing the reader to assess both their personality and financial savviness, all of which plays into a successful real estate career. All in all, Pandora's Lockbox is a fun, eye-opening read!" -Official Non Fiction Authors Association Review "Pandora's Lockbox is anything but predictable. Its hilarious stories will delight the general public as well as would-be and existing real estate pros. One thing is for certain: readers will never think of the real estate industry or agents in exactly the same way after absorbing the trials and tribulations that involve the agents inside Pandora's Lockbox." - Midwest Book Review "From soap opera lives and open house experiences to crime scenes that involve real estate agents, Pandora's Lockbox memoir offers a wealth of unexpected events that keeps readers laughing and learning about an industry that is sometimes privy to some closely-held (and potentially dangerous) secrets." - Bookwatch
