About the Book
Description in English: The story of the Bennet sisters, features an indolent father, a hysterical and irresponsible mother, the elegant and manly presence of Fitzwilliam Darcy, and a staff of absolutely delicious secondary characters. It is not surprising that it immediately caused a tremendous stir in the literary circles of London, where the novel was assessed very positively. Elizabeth Bennet is not the typical null damsel, she's an intelligent, independent, critical, malicious, funny, sensible, adventurous and sincere woman. She has fun with the nonsense to which her peers are doomed with by social constraints, she does not care too remain single, makes fun of love at first sight, learns from her mistakes, she is relentless with social networks that plague her peers and she assumes from the start that she is the owner of her life. Today it seems little thing, but two hundred years ago all the girls in England learned to say 'no' thanks to Elizabeth Bennet, and to be taken as a no, not to feel swept away by an absurd mother, to not to feel intimidated by power, class or money, to respect themselves and to stand before the world with nothing to be ashamed of.

However, her talent is not always received unanimous acceptance and although she achieved fame in life, it took her time to get to the canonical position she has nowadays. Jane, the sixth and last child of Reverend Steventon, lived always with her parents, siblings and nephews in Hampshire and Bath. Homeschooled and with a vast library at her disposal, she wrote stories from an early age, which are collected in her Juvenilia. Before the age of twenty, she began writing Pride and Prejudice. It would then be followed by Mansfield Park, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Persuasion, The Watsons and Northanger Abbey, works she would rewrite throughout her life. Shortly before the age of forty-one, she began writing Sanditon, which she left unfinished when passing away prematurely. Despite start publishing her novels anonymously, she died with most of her work published and some recognition in England. The irony and the portrait of society of her time turn her work into an unavoidable point of reference in the history of world literature."
