About the Book

This is my story, my life; this is me before and after being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. This is me struggling with accepting my diagnosis and trying to understand that, now that I know I have Bipolar Disorder, how it has ruled my life in the past. I look back and I can see myself with Bipolar Disorder out of control and under control. I see my manic and depressive episodes and wonder "What was I Thinking..".

About the Author :
Bipolar Disorder diagnosis. She is the youngest of three siblings and was born and raised in Aguada, Puerto Rico under a hard working and loving family. As a kid, although she was happy and surrounded by loving people, she felt different than everyone. During her teenage years she struggled with depression and it was also the onset of her suicidal thoughts. She was in the Year Book club, Chess Club, Marching Band, Honor Society, and many other groups that kept her mind busy. Even though she reached her dream of being in the college Marching Band, she struggled through college where she dropped out from her Mechanical Engineering degree to become a Casino Dealer. A year later she got married and moved to Delaware where she worked in different jobs until she had the courage to go back to college and finish a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technology. Bermaliz has worked as a Process Engineer for the electronics as well as medical device industries. In 2000 she received her first official diagnosis of being Bipolar though she refused to accept it. In spite of the diagnosis, as one of her personal challenges, she managed to pass the Professional Engineering test. However, in 2011 Bermaliz went through a deep depression that resulted in being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder once again. This time, she accepted the diagnosis and continues to learn how to live with her condition. Her experience with depression, and manic, with suicidal thoughts, and other key characteristics are being shared with you in this book for awareness, for support, for knowledge, for love.
