Acknowledgements The author would like to thank the City of New Orleans and the wonderful people who live there for being the backdrop to my story. In addition, the author would like to thank the millions of people who partake of the "feast of the flesh" each year during Mardi Gras. It is their spirit that keeps New Orleans alive and pulsing with energy all year round. While the story was inspired by real events, and real locations, and to some extent real people, all names have been changed to protect their identity. Mardi Gras for Beginners is a work of fiction and fantasy, and solely a product of the author's mind. Mardi Gras, or Carnival, or The Feast of Flesh, is celebrated annually in New Orleans. While many of the activities and events that occur during Mardi Gras(also known as Fat Tuesday)are family oriented and completely safe, there are opportunities and possibilities galore during the time before, during, and after Mardi Gras which may give rise to individuals freely choosing to engage in activities that they would not normally engage in. The author attended Mardi Gras in 1999 and his attendance there resulted in this story. This story and the author in no way endorses harming anyone for sexual purposes or during lovemaking activities, or engaging in non-consensual or illegal activity. Excerpt below: Show Your Tits It was February 23, 1998, Lundi Gras, Fat Monday. James had been in New Orleans for almost a week now. He had attended all the parades, caught armloads of throws, stayed up until all hours, and still managed to get to work in the morning. He was in town for nine days - a system upgrade. There had been many long hours at the office so far, but now it was over. Tonight was the day before Mardi Gras. The real decadence began tonight. All the rest had been foreplay. He was 29 years old, and single. He made good money with a large computer-consulting firm. By all accounts, he was a success. He had attended his share of parties, both in and out of University, but nothing on the scale of Mardi Gras. The streets were filled with throngs of people, people looking for a good time. And, in most cases, finding it. Last night, he had met her, seen her for the first time. She had been on the shoulders of this big guy, her brother she told him later. He rounded the corner, coming face to face with her breasts. She was under the balcony in front of the Royal Sonesta hotel. A small group of people stood on the balcony overlooking the street. "Show your tits. Show your tits," was their chant. Laughing and squealing like an innocent young woman, she had done exactly that. Lifting her T-shirt and exposing her small, but exquisite breasts, for all to see. And then James walked by. He gaped as he looked at her. She was so beautiful. Her hair was a brownish blonde colour that brought out the tan on her face and drew attention to her dark brown eyes. Her body was firm and her belly button had a gold ring that glistened in the light from the street lamps. Her smile and laughter filled his head. Immediately, he wanted to touch her, wanted to know her

About the Author :
About the Author - Kent Oliver Burt He is the author of many poems, stories, and novels, most of which have never before been published except on the internet or shared with a very select audience of close friends, closed groups, and like-minded communities of readers and listeners. He is also a photographer, thinker, food critic, and chef wannabe. He has traveled far and wide, for business and for pleasure, and has lived in many diverse places. His vast experiences, both at home and away, have allowed him to amass a large body of creative work which is only recently seeing the light of day after collecting digital dust and cobwebs for far too many years. He was a Management Consultant and Entrepreneur, a Project Manager and Software Engineer, a People Manager and Team Builder who's company logo was: People Matter. He is semi-retired due to ongoing health issues, and is currently living a quiet life in a small rural community with his wife and cat. He is hoping to remain healthy enough to share his creative work with the world before he partakes of his last Mardi Gras and joins that Long Fat Tuesday in the sky.
