About the Book

What sort of betrayal would drive a brother and sister apart? When Grace and her brother Andrew inherit their grandmother's house in Hampstead, they decide to move in together. It seems the obvious thing to do: they've always got on well, the house is large enough to split down the middle, and neither of them likes partying or loud music. There's one thing they've forgotten though: what if one of them wants to bring a lover into the house? When Andrew's partner James moves in, it alters the balance – with almost fatal consequences. The Child's Child is both an intriguing examination of betrayal in families, and a taut, thrilling listen.

About the Author :
Ruth Barbara Rendell, Baroness Rendell of Babergh, CBE (née Grasemann; born 17 February 1930), is an English author of thrillers and psychological murder mysteries. Rendell's best-known creation, Chief Inspector Wexford, is the hero of many popular police stories, some of them successfully adapted for TV. But Rendell has also generated a separate brand of crime-fiction that explores deeply into the psychological background of criminals and their victims, many of them mentally afflicted or otherwise socially isolated. This theme is developed further in a third series of novels, written under her pseudonym Barbara Vine. Finty Williams was born in London in 1972, the daughter of actors Judi Dench and Michael Williams. She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and has appeared in many British films and theatre productions. She is the lead voice for the animated children's series Angelina Ballerina, and has narrated a number of audiobooks.

Review :
'She deploys her peerless skills in blending the mundane, commonplace aspects of life with the murky impulses of desire and greed.' 'Vine is not afraid to walk down the mean streets of the mind and can build up an almost tangible atmosphere of menace and unease.' 'The pre-eminent genius of the psychological thriller.'
