Nachdem nun Altautz gekauft war, sprach meine Stiesmutter immer mehr davon, dass die Tochter reich verheirathet werden mussten, aus dass die Sohne sich dereinst bei den Gutern erhalten konnten; jede Tochter musse also einen solchen Mann wahlen, dem nur ihre Schonheit als Mitgift genuge. Auch gab der Ankaus von Altautz meinen Eltern den Entschluss, Remten zu verlassen; nicht ohne Schmerz Kennte ich mich von der mir liebgewordenen Nachbarschaft; die schone See, der Garten, dies alles wurde nun verlassen, denn das neuerkauste Gut sollte der Landsitz meiner Eltern werden. Wir Kinder und Hausgenossen trennten uns nicht ohne Thranen vom bisherigen Wohnorte; aber angenehm suhlte ich mich uberrascht, als ich den anderen Morgen bei meinem Erwachen eine noch lachendere Gegend aus dem Fenster unseres noch schoneren Wohngebaudes sah. Den schonen, grossen, ruhigen Landsee vermisste ich zwar, aber die mannigsaltigeren, lieblichen Spaziergange und hubschen Teiche ent ) Elisas Bater kauste Altautz von der Familie Grotthuss am 30.
