Scipio is clever and quick-witted, but he hates his father and he hates being talked to as if he was a baby. This feeling goes so deep that he wants to ride on the magical merry-go-round (where if one has a ride, one can either become an adult or a child, depending upon the direction you take) and becomes an adult and stops being bossed around. Scipio, while having no sympathy for his father's well-being or care for him, has a kind heart, especially for poor children such as Prosper, Bo, Riccio, Mosca and Caterina (Hornet). He also seems to have a soft spot for cats. But nobody knows his deep dark secret. Prosper: People sometimes call him Prop. He is a 12 year old orphan and brother of Boniface (Bo). He is very caring to all his friends and especially to his younger brother: Bo. Prosper has dirty blond, curly hair and blue eyes. He is described to always have a very serious look on his face. He tends to worry excessively. He is more mature than other kids his age. Prosper is sweet and sensitive and doesn't like stealing. His mother died a few months earlier, and he has had to take care of his brother all by himself.
