About the Author :
María Elena Placencia es catedrática de lingüística y español en Birkbeck, Universidad de Londres (Inglaterra). Su investigación se centra en pragmática sociocultural y variacional y análisis del discurso digital. Ha publicado extensamente sobre lengua e interacción social en diferentes contextos socioculturales en el mundo hispánico. Su trabajo en los últimos años se ha centrado en el estudio de la construcción de las relaciones interpersonales a través del lenguaje, tanto en interacciones de servicio virtuales como en Facebook, Instagram y otras redes sociales. Alejandro Parini es decano de la Facultad de Lenguas y Estudios Extranjeros de la Universidad de Belgrano (Argentina). Es profesor titular de la cátedra de lingüística inglesa en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, y vicepresidente de la Fundación LITTERAE de estudios lingüísticos. Su área de investigación y publicación se centra en el estudio del discurso en la comunicación digital, y es director del grupo de investigación LENCOTEC de la Universidad de Belgrano.
