Andrew Carnegie made millionaires out of men who started in menial positions, and who afterwards greatly assisted him. Charles M. Schwab, one of them, has followed the same policy, and in a few years converted the Bethlehem Steel Company, which was a financial wreck, into one of the most profitable and powerful concerns in the world. Mr. Schwab made Mr. Eugene Grace, who had been a laborer at the Bethlehem Steel Company, president of that corporation in 1912 at the age of thirty-five. Mr. Schwab claims that Mr. Grace is the greatest steel man in the country, and one of the brightest men in the world.
