About the Book

A thorough revision of our highly regarded Vander Zanden text, this edition presents Human Development in a broader context than most of its competitors. Inter-disciplinary, cross-cultural, and multifaceted, "Vander Zanden/Crandell" incorporates a wide array of contexts to make sense of the complex nature of Human Development. This edition includes complete coverage of the most recent theories as well as classic research, updated demographic statistics, and an excellent pedagogical design that makes it easier for students to retain and recall information. Using instructional design techniques from cognitive psychology, it has a multidisciplinary framework and a cross-cultural flavor. "Information You Can Use" boxes are based in real-world applications. Web sites allow students and professors to delve further into concepts and research.
